Sustainability
Together for our nature
Environmental awareness is a matter of honor
For us as a family-run hotel, climate protection means that we want to shape a future that is also worth living in for future generations. For this reason, sustainability is a top priority for us.
We are committed - and certified
We have been part of Green Globe, a global certification and performance improvement program, since 2012. We have also successfully applied for the GreenSign certificate, which assesses the sustainable management of accommodation establishments. Find out more at www.greensign.de.
We also support several environmental and climate protection initiatives:

jhj Hamburg e.V. has been working in the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg as a provider of addiction support and youth and disability work since 1970. The association offers a socio-therapeutic network for addicts, their relatives and children, as well as youth and disability projects.
Founded in 2004, the aim of the organization is to help shape the common good. Initially focusing on the procurement of school clothing and music sponsorship, the foundation's work now encompasses more than 20 projects. We support their "Learning Kids" project with various donations.
The donation platform of the same name supports people who find themselves in a material emergency - whether it's the first furniture for an apartment after becoming homeless or school bags for the children of a refugee family. Every year, Baseler Hof donates various goods to DER HAFEN HILFT that are no longer needed in the hotel but can help other people.
The Christian Academy is a non-profit organization of the Verband Christlicher Hoteliers e.V. (VCH) for thinking, promoting and training. Its topics are wide-ranging: Life values, business ethics, study trips, further education, Bible-based, culture and concerts.
The HILFMAHL initiative promises further help for the homeless during the cold season! When you visit a restaurant, one euro will be added to your bill as a donation, which will then be transferred to the organization. This is, of course, a voluntary donation.
