Thanks to its central location, the Baseler Hof is the ideal starting point for exploring Hamburg. The Alster, shopping streets and museums, theater and opera, trade fair and congress center, as well as Hamburg City Hall and many other sights are all just a few minutes’ walk away. You can even reach the Elbphilharmonie concert hall on foot. To help you find your way around, we have provided a map and tips on how to get here.

How to reach our private hotel in Hamburg
Tips for your journey – so that your stay with us at the Kleinhuis Hotel Baseler Hof can get off to a relaxed start.
Arrival by car
From the north on the A7/ A24
From the A7, take the Stellingen exit and drive in the direction of Hamm Messe/Zentrum.
From the south/ south-east from the A1/ A7
Leave the highway in the direction of the city center.
From the east/ north-east from the A1/ A24
If you are coming from the A1, please take the A24 and follow the Jenfeld junction to the Horner Kreisel.

Parking
To check in and unload your luggage, you can conveniently stop directly in front of the hotel in our loading zone. Our team at reception will be happy to advise you on the best parking options in Hamburg city center. We recommend the following parking garages in the immediate vicinity:
- Parking garage at Gänsemarkt, a five-minute walk from the hotel and slightly more expensive
- Alsterufer parking garage, about ten minutes' walk away
- Parking garage Messe Ost, about 15 minutes' walk away
- At the Q-Park (not video-monitored) on the other side of the Binnenalster, it is best to book in advance; if you only drive in and out once, you will receive an additional discount!
By train
If you are traveling with small luggage and are able to walk, please get off at Dammtorbahnhof. Leave through the exit leading to the Congress Center Hamburg (CCH), but turn left to the pedestrian ramp, which will take you to the Stephansplatz intersection. Here you cross both streets (first straight ahead, then left) and arrive at Esplanade No. 11.
From the main station you can also take the bus number 112, direction S-Bahnhof Altona/ Neumühlen/Övelgönne. Leave the main station in the direction of Glockengießerwall; the bus stop is directly in front of the exit. After two stops, get off at Stephansplatz; you now only need to walk back 300 meters, change sides of the street and you are already here!
The best way to reach us by subway is to take the U1 (blue line) in the direction of Ohlsdorf/ Ochsenzoll/Garstedt/Norderstedt. After four stops, get off at the Stephansplatz stop, take the rear exit as seen from the direction of travel and turn left. It is only 200 meters to Baseler Hof.
If you prefer a more comfortable journey, take a cab from the main station. There are cab ranks on both sides of the station. Our tip: Leave the station in the direction of Glockengießerwall and take a cab from the rank on the right-hand side of the exit - it's cheaper!
By airplane
It is advisable to take a cab from the airport. Depending on the time of day, the journey takes between 30 and 35 minutes and the fare is around 30 euros.
Our city and conference hotel is also easy to reach by public transport. Take the S-Bahn directly from the airport in the direction of U-Bahn Ohlsdorf and change from there to the U1 (blue line) in the direction of Jungfernstieg/Hauptbahnhof. Get off at Stephansplatz, leave the station in the direction of travel and use the left exit. Now it is only about 200 meters on foot on the Esplanade; our hotel is on the right-hand side.
How to get there by bike
If you like, you can bring your own bike! Your bike is protected from the weather and safe in our bike cellar; you can charge your e-bike here without any problems.
Unfortunately, we do not have any bicycles for hire, but we will be happy to inform you about nearby rental options.
